“And Mary said: ‘My soul glorifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, for the Mighty One has done great things for me—holy is his name.'”
— Luke 1:46-47, 49 (NIV 1984)

Priorities for Prayer

  • Monday, December 29
Please pray for MAF’s team serving in northeastern Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). Jon and Cher Cadd lead a group of 20 local staff and seven expat missionary families serving in Bunia, Nyankunde, and Kampala, Uganda, with three aircraft.
  • Tuesday, December 30
Give thanks for volunteers helping with the rebuilding of MAF’s Nyankunde base. This base was destroyed by tribal militia in 2002. MAF staff recently moved back to Nyankunde after serving from Bunia for several years.

  • Wednesday, December 31
Give thanks for and pray for the missionaries from SIL who have been working on Bible translation projects in eastern DRC. Several projects are near completion: the Logo, Tembo, and Mayogo New Testaments, and the entire Kifuliru Bible (OT and NT). Pray for these people groups as they receive God’s Word in their heart languages.
  • Thursday, January 1
Praise God for improved health! After several months of struggling with injuries and illness, most members of MAF’s East DRC team are on the mend. Pray for full healing. Pray also for two of these families that are expecting babies.
  • Friday, January 2
The Petersen, Lind, and Hensen families are currently at French language school, preparing for their MAF missionary assignments in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Please pray that the language will come easily to them, and that the Lord will continue to prepare their hearts and minds for service in the DRC.
  • Saturday, January 3
Pray for Gene and Jennifer Arnold and their children, MAF missionaries who serve at Moody Aviation in Spokane, Washington, where Gene trains the next generation of missionary aviators. Learn more about their ministry at www.maf.org/arnold.
  • Sunday, January 4
Please lift up Darrell and Valerie ash and their children. The Ash family has been with MAF since 1998, and currently serves at LeTourneau University in Longview, Texas, where Darrell is involved in missionary aviation training. Read more about this family at www.maf.org/ash.
