January 7 – January 13, 2019

Then David said to Solomon his son, “Be strong and courageous and do it. Do not be afraid and do not be dismayed, for the LORD God, even my God, is with you. He will not leave you or forsake you, until all the work for the service of the house of the Lord is finished.
-1 Chronicles 28:20 (ESV)

Monday, January 7
LORD Almighty, we choose not to worry or be dismayed, because You are with us always. We will face difficulty with courage, because You strengthen us as we do what You’ve asked us to do.

Tuesday, January 8
Please be in prayer about the Ebola epidemic in eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC)—for the people infected and their families, the medical workers, and the MAF team on the ground as they continue to help.

Wednesday, January 9
Please pray for the Ludvicek, Bristol, and Gandy families who are in various stages of language school (some finishing and some just starting) in Java, Indonesia, for MAF service in Papua. Pray that they learn the Indonesian language fluently and with a pleasing accent to the Indonesians’ ears. Pray for good health and safety for each member of their families as they face malaria, parasites, and Asian-style traffic.

Thursday, January 10
Lift up Cory and Annaleis Woodsum who are preparing for service in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Cory is a pilot specialist. The Woodsums are currently in language school in Albertville, France. Please pray that they would learn to speak French well and for divine appointments with their neighbors.

Friday, January 11
Give thanks that more Filipinos are learning about MAF’s ministry. Pray that God will call more people into international mission service with MAF.

Saturday, January 12
Lift up Jim and Candy Abell who have served with MAF since 1994. After assignments in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Zambia, Jim is now a shipping agent, keeping the MAF worldwide fleet stocked with parts and supplies. In addition to taking care of their family and home, Candy serves in various part-time capacities at MAF headquarters, including front desk receptionist.

Sunday, January 13
Pray that God would increase a thirst for His Word and that MAF staff and their families would be diligent to mediate on Scripture daily.

What happened to 2018? Here–and Gone, so quickly. I hope it
has been a good year for each of you–for what has been happening in MAF, but also for each of you, in your personal lives and in your families.

Best wishes for 2019! For good health, much happiness, and
memorable moments in the year we are now entering. May God
bless you daily as you strive to bless others in His Care.
