So the shepherds went quickly and found Mary and Joseph and the baby, who was lying in a feeding trough. When they had seen him, they told what the angels had said about this child. Everyone was amazed at what the shepherds said to them.

During this time of year, we remember with awe the day Jesus was born in Bethlehem. Angels declared the Messiah’s birth to common shepherds. Thank You for coming, Lord Jesus, in such an unassuming and humble way. We worship You and bow amazed. Photo by Dan Kiefer, Unsplash.com.

Lift up Jared and Teresa Wiley who serve as teachers at Papua Harapan (Hope) School in Papua, Indonesia. Jared is currently the physical education teacher while Teresa volunteers her expertise as a nurse to help develop the school’s healthcare policies. This small school focuses on providing a quality education for students from remote villages that MAF serves. Pray that these students learn good leadership skills and model godly character as they become the future leaders of their province.

Pray for the church on Buyange Island in Uganda and the work being done there to further the Gospel. Pray for Sam Tsapwe, who has been partnering with MAF to reach the Ssese Islands in Lake Victoria for many years. The remote fishing villages on these small islands are crowded, often with poor living conditions. Photo by Mark and Kelly Hewes.

Lift up Wally and Joan Wiley who have faithfully served with MAF in various countries and roles over several decades. Their adult children, Jacinda and Jared also serve with MAF. Two years ago, Wally stepped aside from his regional management position to become MAF Indonesia’s “chief advisor” and to focus on the educational and healthcare needs of the Papua people. Today Wally continues to expand the Papua Harapan Schools and to work to establish a hospital and clinics in the Papuan province of Indonesia.
