September 30 – October 6, 2019

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.
-Hebrews 12:1 (NIV)

Monday, September 30
Fill us with Your love, Lord God, so that we will overflow with Your kindness to others. We depend on You for our strength and courage. May we be resolute in our faith and be firmly grounded in Your Word.

Tuesday, October 1
Pray for the MAF staff and volunteers who work at the Nampa headquarters as we pause from all work-related tasks today in order to spend the entire day resting and delighting in God’s presence.

Wednesday, October 2
Please pray for the people of Papua, Indonesia, as renewed racial tensions have led to unrest in the region. MAF has evacuated its families from Wamena in Papua, along with some other missionaries. MAF remains on standby to evacuate others if requested.

Thursday, October 3
Lift up Mike and Angie Johnson, who are serving with MAF in Tarakan, Indonesia. Currently Mike is the only maintenance specialist on staff with five planes to keep track of in the hangar. Pray that he can find balance between juggling paperwork, fixing airplanes, and training new staff members.

Friday, October 4
Please continue to pray for the MAF team in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo (EDRC). There is one confirmed death from Ebola in the Nyankunde hospital. Because of Ebola and other rising security risks, MAF has evacuated its Nyankunde staff to Bunia (EDRC) and Kampala, Uganda, as a precautionary measure.

Saturday, October 5
Lift up Gene and Lynn Jordan, who have served with MAF since 1977. Gene has filled many roles, including pilot/mechanic, program manager in Ecuador, regional manager for Latin America, director of communications, and vice president of personnel. Lynn taught missionary kids at each of the mission schools near the MAF bases where they have been assigned overseas. She continues to teach in the Nampa school system.

Sunday, October 6
Please pray for the MAF pre-field staff and their families who are preparing to travel to Nampa for their overseas orientation. Classes start on Friday, October 11th.
