March 19 – March 25, 2018

I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace.
In this world you will have trouble. But take heart!
I have overcome the world.

John 16:33

Monday, March 19
Even though the world seems on fire with unrest and violence, You, Lord Jesus, give us courage and peace. Thank You for being our Victorious King.

Tuesday, March 20
Violence in eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) has caused thousands of internally displaced people to flood the city of Bunia, where two makeshift camps have sprung up. Pray for an end to the violence.

Wednesday, March 21
There were only 2 bags of rice to feed 100,000 displaced people in Bunia when MAF staff arrived, according to MAF EDRC Program Manager, Jon Cadd. The big humanitarian organizations are still assessing the situation. So there is still no food coming into the camps other than what the local Christians and MAF are giving out.

Thursday, March 22
Pray for MAF staff serving people who are forced to flee their homes and villages of eastern DRC. Many Congolese are without medical care for their injuries and separated from loved ones.

Friday, March 23
Praise God that MAF was able to purchase a large cooking pot (300-liter) at the Bunia market along with 30 more bags of rice to help feed the growing number of internally displaced people in the DRC. If you would like to help financially, please give to MAF’s disaster response fund.

Saturday, March 24
Shelter for the displaced Congolese people is in short supply. Bunia refugees are constructing tent frames by tying together stalks of thick grass, but the camps have run out of tarps, leaving thousands of people exposed to the elements.

Sunday, March 25
Lift up Danny and Leslie Hulls, an MAF pilot/mechanic family, as they adjust to life back in America after serving eight years in Lesotho, Africa. Danny is now an applications administrator at MAF-US headquarters in Nampa. Pray for their daughter as her leg heals and adjusts to its new prosthesis.
