April 29 – May 5, 2019

Now, brothers and sisters, I say good-bye. Live in harmony. Do what I have asked you to do. Agree with each other, and live in peace. Then the God of love and peace will be with you.
-2 Corinthians 13:11 (NCV)

Monday, April 29
Help us, Lord God, to live in harmony with each other and may the attitudes of our hearts be agreeable to Your will. We want Your love and peace to dwell with us and characterize who we are.

Tuesday, April 30
Pray for the MAF-US Spiritual Emphasis Team (SET) as they have a retreat today to spend time in the Lord’s presence.

Wednesday, May 1
For the first time in Mozambique history, a second large cyclone has hit in the same season. Please pray for the MAF families who live in Nampula, and the Disaster Response team, as they respond to Cyclone Kenneth, which made landfall last Thursday. Pray also for physical and spiritual healing for this land.

Thursday, May 2
Lift up Kent and Nancy Contrucci, a pilot/mechanic family who has served in Papua, Indonesia. Currently, Kent serves as a safety specialist in the MAF Aviation Safety Department, implementing the Inside-Out Safety Program (IOSP). He presents the IOSP Seminar at MAF Headquarters to staff and to all incoming MAF missionaries. Nancy mentors graduate students who want to become special education teachers.

Friday, May 3
Please pray for MAF Papua and especially the team in Sentani as they continue to deal with the aftermath of the flooding from last month. In addition, there has been a recent robbery attempt that has the staff on edge. Pray for strength and safety.

Saturday, May 4
Lift up Elijah and Erin Derbecker, an aviation maintenance special family. They are currently raising support in preparation to serve in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Please pray that they can sell their house soon as they prepare to pack up their belongings. As soon as their support team is complete, they will head off for language school.

Sunday, May 5
Please pray for those suffering from dengue fever in the SE Asian island nation of Timor-Leste and the surrounding nations. It is common for outbreaks of this illness to occur at this time of the year, but more deaths have been reported than usual.
